This is wonderful!  I look forward to learning more about this mission.  Also, it'll be interesting to "know" about the people behind the many aliases that frequent this site.  Should be fun!

Really nice work guys. The audio setup in that one shot is pretty impressive; well, all except for what I assume is the ancient tape deck smiley

My gog version of Overseer

My gog version of Overseer works fine, but I'm getting interested in this. I really appreciate the effort and passion behind a project like this. You should give as an PayPal account to make donations. I would give some money, as it's the only way I can contribute.

This all very exciting, every time I build a new rig I check to see if Overseer will still properly play - maybe now I will be able to stop doing that.
I'm also willing to donate to beta test ;) (ah heck, I'll donate regardless).

Good luck to everyone, and thanks for doing this, it personally means a lot to me!

Edit: Is there any chance to somehow include the Radio Theater in this? Either as a bonus playable section or just the audio files? For some reason GOG does not have it in their game bonuses (and I never understood why, despite contacting them over the matter)

I'm happy to donate the $10 for additional updates or additional funds whenever I have the extra dosh to give. I wish I had some talent to give to the project too! Looking forward to the upcoming updates. Keep up the fantastic work guys!

Really impressive! I want to

Really impressive!

I want to say that I played the trilogy in chronological order and while UAKM blew me away for being so ahead of its time and so involving and being of course my first meeting with Tex (who can't fall in love with him right away?), Overseer was in many ways my favorite one.

The puzzles quality was on average the best and I loved the sequence where we finally get to challenge Slade! A real gem!

The frustration factor is low thanks also to the wonderful Hint system and it's soothing knowing that it's never really game over because Tex is telling a story. It made me feel better when I failed some of the sequences.

I am ready to support this project all the way!

Thanks for the update. It was extremely interesting and I am looking forward to more!

Just finished Update #2 of the Diary. Again, congrats for getting this project off the ground. I have to say, if you guys manage to pull this off with the quality you've exhibited so far, I believe it will be a landmark moment in video game history. And, no, I don't believe that's hyperbole.

Steve I thought a fortnightly

Steve I thought a fortnightly issue might be a bit ambitious considering everyone has other stuff to do and often lots of it - do it when you can we know you are working on it and try and have a life as well...

Meantime, the pics are great!!

Look forward to the next instalment.

Hey Silvermitt...

Try it again and let me know if you see the images now.
I suspect you won't...that this might be related to the image hosting provider--but we'll have to see.

(do you see ANY of the images from the 3 different posts?)

Unfortunately, no pictures at all.

Is the image host from a foreign site? I wouldn't think that would be a problem, but I'm clueless about that stuff.

If / when you have some

Silvermitt,

If / when you have some time, would you email me and let me know:

  • What browser you are using
  • What device you are using (PC/IPad/IPhone/Android/Other)
  • No change if you refresh the page?
  • If you've tried a different browser from the same device?
  • Have you tried a different device (another computer/tablet/phone)
  • Have you ever? seen the images?  (You don't see the thumbnails (the little 1"x1" images right?  what about the banner image or signature image?)
  • I assume you see something (a placeholder) instead of the thumbnail.  When you click that placeholder what happens.  (are you taken to the larger image?)

I flushed the caches manually here on my end.  I see the images.
I've also logged in with the same credentials you have, and I see the images.
I've tried Chrome/IE/Firefox/

OK, Got it figured out, but man am I going to grumble about it asI do this later today.....

Salk in Sweden, if you are using older equipment, like myself, or simply have an outdated search engine, then you need to get a newer version.  My old mac can use TenFourFox, but still cannot update some of the plugins needed to see certain types of video.  Just to let you know and hoping it will help you out a bit.

Hello

Hello Silvermitt!

Thanks for the suggestion but the problem is another. My equipment is not outdated. The problem is with Chrome. When I launched the same page with IE the images are also not loaded but I get a message about blocking content with a certificate error. I can choose to have IE to load them anyway and if I do, the images are correctly loaded.

I think it's a security block that Chrome automatically enforces without even giving me the chance to override its behavior (at least, not as easily as IE did).

I am not really computer savvy so if anyone has any idea about how to make Chrome allow for showing the images, I'd be grateful for the tip. Alternatively, perhaps it'd be good to have a different host. I think you must have changed it because in the beginning, I could see the images. The problem started with the second production update.

Godspeed, The Poisoned Pawns team!

I have my doubts the problem is chrome.
It hasn't been a problem for anyone I know that uses chrome here (it's pretty much the default for most people I know)

But it's possible I suppose.
More likely, I would suspect that you may have changed some chrome settings.

I'd take a peek at the settings you have selected, or resetting Chrome to default might be the best solution.

There is a little icon with three horizontal lines to the right of the address bar.
This is your Chrome Options Menu.

Select that, then select SETTINGS

Near the bottom of that dialog is: RESET BROWSER SETTINGS

I would also look under EXTENSIONS in the menu on the right in SETTINGS  (see if anything in there looks odd)

G'luck

Awesome update!  Just wanted to share my thanks to all those working on this, any new/improved Tex material is a VERY good thing!laugh

One question since I've never been involved in a fan project like this, and I don't really expect an answer because I'm sure its unknown, but how long until this comes to fruition?  Ballpark, are we talking 1-2 years or more like 5-10 years?

Yeah that's indeed hard to tell. 5-10 years? hell no, we want to do Pandora as well. wink You know right now we are 13 team members, but in average 4-5 are working more or less constantly on this project. 2015? No way! - 2016? likely - 2017? quite sure. But don't nail me down for that.

You know the reason to do

You know the reason to do Overseer is, that it's the easiest one to start with, no multiple paths, no characters on the streets we have to deal with and Overseer has more freedom in terms of some enhancements. It's a highly underrated game imo. It feels a bit unfinished in comparison to the other ones, might be the problem of a short time-scale they had back in the days.

Pandora is the god, but the hardest one. We'll see how "The Poisoned Pawn" will do and yes it would be a dream to continue. If it's UAKM or Pandora, we have to determine. Right now our focus is of course "The Poisoned Pawn" and this will keep us busy quite a while. And as Joel mentioned, BFG has the final word on this.
