If you’ve already installed 3 Cards to Dead Time successfully (or haven’t yet bought the game), you can disregard this message!

We have encountered a conflict that occurs only if you’re running Windows 7 (and occasionally Vista). If you’ve downloaded the game, but are getting an error message during the installation, the quickest solution is to simply right-click the icon and select Run as administrator, then continue the installation as normal.

Anyone who downloads the game from now on will not have to work around this problem.

Big Finish, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of 3 Cards to Dead Time!

This sequel to 3 Cards to Midnight continues the story from the first game and also features 8 chapters, 3 difficulty levels, and excellent replayability. But you’ll see some big changes as well! The graphics are all-new and amazing, and the game can go full-screen. The story has multiple endings, determined by your decisions! The gameplay has been expanded for more variety and modified to make it more accessible (especially for non-native-English speakers). We’ve added the option to display captions (just English for now – French, German, Italian and Spanish coming soon).

If you’d like to try before you buy, download the free demo of the Game Intro and Chapter 1.

We hope you like it and, if you do, please tell a few friends!

The first patch for 3CM (see previous post, below) fixed a big problem…but also created a very small problem. (For details, go to our Forum.)

If you downloaded the game after 5:00 PM Eastern Time, today (May 13), you don’t need to download a patch.

If you bought the game BEFORE then – and from THIS SITE only – NOT from another site – you can download the new patch by following the instructions in the previous post (below).

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you enjoy the game!

Some people who have downloaded Three Cards to Midnight have reported a bug that causes the game to skip puzzles at the end of chapters. We have fixed this problem and created a patch for you to download.

TO INSTALL THE PATCH

  1. CLICK HERE to download the patch file (3CTM_Patch_05_13_09.zip)
    • Some browsers (Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) do not give you a choice of where you want to download the patch. Instead, they send all downloads to a default folder. If, after the download completes, you’re not sure where the patch downloaded to, follow these steps:GOOGLE CHROME:
      • Click the Wrench icon (in the upper-right corner) and then Downloads. [View Example]
      • 3CTM_Patch_05_13_09.zip will be at the top of the list; click Show in Folder to see where the file is stored. [View Example]

      FIREFOX:

      • From the Tools menu, click Options [View Example]
      • In the Options dialog box, click the Main tab. In the Downloads section, the “Save Files to” box will show where the file is stored. [View Example]
  2. After the zip file downloads, right-click it and select Extract Here. This will “unzip” the contents and create a “Three Cards to Midnight.exe” icon.
  3. Copy Three Cards to Midnight.exe to the root directory of the game folder.
    • Note: Unless you specified otherwise, the location of the root directory is: C:\Program Files\Big Finish Games\Three Cards to Midnight\Three Cards to Midnight
  4. After the new .exe copies over the old one, start the game as usual and you’ll be good to go
    • Note: We recommend that you delete any previously created PLAYER(S) and start the game from the beginning.

We’re pleased to announce that the game will finally be available for download from the Big Finish Games website at 7 PM ET on Thursday, May 7. Thanks to everyone who has followed the development of 3CM and been so supportive through the various delays. The price of the game will be $20 and we’re pretty confident you’ll think it’s worth every penny. And with a price that low, go ahead and buy a copy for your mom!

Three Cards to Midnight is finally ready for release! The game will be available for download on May 6 (yes, 2009). Check back after May 1 to get the specific location(s) where the 3CM can be downloaded!
